Sources Vectorial.

Sources Vectorial.

1 - vector fonts, unlike the bitmap fonts are not limited to certain sizes or attributes of a
typeface. They consist of mathematical descriptions of each character and punctuation of the typeface. Are
called vector fonts because the description of a capital A 36 point Times Roman family is the same as that of
a capital of 24 points Times Roman family.

2 - Some printers come with a page description language, usually PostScript or Printer Command Language
Hewlett-Packard in firmware - software embedded in a microchip.
The language is able to translate the commands sources vector of its program instructions that need to manage the printer which will put points on the sheet paper. For printers that do not have this language already built, the program is able to translate the commands printer language in instructions to the printer.

3 - When a print command is sent by the program to a printer that uses vector fonts, the application sends
a series of commands that page description language interpreted by a set of algorithms or formulas
mathematics. The algorithms describe the lines and arcs that will make up the character of the typeface. Algorithms typefaces have some tips, special changes in the lyrics where the type is extremely large or small.

4 - The commands insert variables in formulas to change the size or font attributes vector. The results will be
commands to the printer you say, actually. "Create a horizontal line of three points in width, starting at 60 points and the bottom 20 points to the right. A page description language triggers all the bits belonging to the design letter - unless the source has some internal shading effect.

5 - Instead of sending individual commands for each character of the document, the page description language sends instructions to the print mechanism responsible for producing the page as a whole. In this light, the page is basically a large graphic image that can also contain text: the text and the graphics get the same treatment. The fact that treat the page as an image instead of a character set, implies lower print speed of the text use the language page description instead of bitmaps.
