Boot Process - overview.

Boot Process - overview.

When your personal computer PC is off, it is simply a collection of pieces of metal, plastic and tiny
silicon particles. When pressing the Power button (On), a small spark of electricity - only five volts - gives
initiated a series of events which, interestingly, give life to what seemed just a sophisticated weight
roles.
Even with that breath of life, the PC still shows a bit stupid at first glance. He seems to be aware of it,
when checking which parts are installed and running, as that patient back to a state of coma and
examine your body to see if all is right with the legs and arms. However, after this self-checking procedure,
the newly awakened PC still can not produce anything useful, even something we could consider a modicum of
intelligence.

At best, he can get that intelligence - intelligence that comes in the form of the operating system, which
structure the existence of primitive and static PC. Then comes the learning in the form of applications - programs that
tell the computer how to perform their tasks more quickly and accurately, becoming a student able to overcome
teacher.
But not all computers need to go through this complicated process each time they are connected. Nowadays, there are
computers that are already awake and ready for use as soon as the switch-on of the power button. Do not think of them as
computers since it received the name calculator, electronic ignition car, microwave timer and programmer
VCR. The difference between them and the cash you have on the table is the complexity of the circuits. The
computers are designed to perform a single task - and are very efficient in it - are equipped for it.
But it also means they are more wise to wise real idiots.

What makes your PC a machine so miraculous, every time it is turned on, is a tabula rasa able to run anything
your creativity - or, generally, the creativity of programmers - can imagine. It can be a calculator,
the screen of an artist, a typewriter full of tricks, a counter and a server infallible various tools.
To change it, just set some of the settings microscopic microchips embedded in the heart of a task
performed by typing a command in the message (prompt) DOS or pressing the mouse button on
a tiny icon on the screen.
This type of intelligence is fragile and short-lived. The millions of keys with microscopic adjustments are constantly
appearing and disappearing under the fluctuations of electricity. And this can lead to a wrong instruction or reading
Incorrect simple adjustment, it will take all this fantastic intelligence to state of chaos. Or, simply disconnect
the machine so that the pulsing artificial life disappear without the slightest sigh. So every time you turn on your computer,
This complex process is reactivated.
