How does it Disk Storage.

How does it Disk Storage.

This piece of content will be examined various forms of permanent storage that resolve recording tasks
data, so that they can be easily found, and how the storage engines record and retrieve
data.

The most common form of permanent data storage disks is made. Its capacity can vary from a few hundred
kilobytes to several gigabytes, but all have some common elements. Firstly, the manner in which the mechanism of
unit creates the 1s and 0s that make up the binary language of computers may be different, but the goal is to change
microscopically small areas of the surface of the disk for some other areas represent 0s and 1s. The disc
has different characters to write a great novel or a weekly shopping list.

Another common element is the schema that determines how data is organized on disk. The computer operating system,
which in most cases is the MS-DOS determines that schema.
The operating system controls many of the operations that many PC users forget what DOS means Disk only
Operating System, or OS disk, whose basic function is to control the disk drives.

Before any information can be stored on a magnetic disk, the disk must be formatted. Formatting creates a
guiding map that allows the unit to store and retrieve data in an orderly manner. This map consists of codes
Magnetic wrapped in a film that divides the surfaces of the disk into sectors (slices) and tracks (concentric circles).
Such divisions organize the disk to which data can be written logically and quickly accessed through the
heads read / write, which move back and forth on the rotating disk. The number of sectors and tracks
defining fit on the disc capacity.

Once formatted, write or read the file even if it is simpler disk is a complicated process that involves
program you are using DOS, the BIOS (System Basic Input / Output) PC and the drive mechanism itself. The
operating system must have a way to find any file on the disk. How a file can be fragmented into
many separate sections, it becomes necessary a way to not lose track of these sections. It is also imperative
be a method to delete a file, so that the space occupied by it is free to receive other files.
